The recently launched Kotak PVR INOX credit card is among the best cards for movie enthusiasts and as the name suggests, is a co-branded offering from Kotak Mahindra Bank and PVR INOX group. The card carries only movie benefits and has no rewards on other categories. Benefits include 5% flat discount on movie tickets with no capping, an incremental milestone based program for free tickets, and a 20% flat discount on food & beverages to make it a perfect combination.
There is no joining fee and the annual fee is Rs 499, a justifiable amount considering the benefits.

Kotak PVR INOX Credit Card Benefits
From 5% flat discount on movie tickets to 20% discount on food & beverages, and milestone-based free tickets to complimentary lounge access at PVR INOX cinemas, the Kotak PVR INOX credit card has plenty of benefits for movie enthusiasts. Apart from movies, the card carries no benefits and rewards for any other category.
Milestone-based Free Tickets
You get 1 free PVR INOX ticket worth Rs 300 on every Rs 10,000 spent in a monthly billing cycle. The number of free tickets keep increasing with every additional Rs 10,000 spends.
For example:
- If your monthly spend is above Rs 10,000, say Rs 11,000, you get 1 free ticket.
- If your monthly spend between Rs 20,001 to Rs 30,000, you get 2 free tickets.
- If your monthly spend is between Rs 30,001 to Rs 40,000, you get 3 free tickets.
- And so on.
- There is no capping on the number of free tickets you can avail. If you spend 2.05 lakh in a month, you get 20 free tickets, each ticket worth Rs 300.
Rent and wallet payments are excluded from the spend-based criteria.
How to avail free tickets?
Once eligible, you can claim the M-Coupons (each worth Rs 300) from Kotak Mobile App or Net Banking. You can redeem these M-Coupons when booking the tickets through PVR INOX website or mobile application. Simply choose the ‘PVR Privileges’ or ‘Avail Offers’ section when booking the ticket through PVR INOX app or website and enter the M-Coupon code. 1 M-Coupon can be redeemed only against 1 ticket and any additional cost will have to be paid by you.
You can book tickets for any cinema format, any category and any PVR INOX cinema of your choosing. The free tickets are valid only for 60 days.

Flat 5% discount on Movie ticket
You get a flat 5% discount on movie tickets at any PVR INOX theatre whether you book tickets through PVR INOX App/Website or at the purchase at the theatre itself.
The discount will apply when you pay using your Kotak PVR INOX credit card.
There is no capping on this benefit.
Flat 20% discount on Food & Beverages
You get a flat 20% discount on food & beverages when you purchase using the Kotak PVR INOX card. You can avail this offer through purchases at PVR INOX theatre counters or through PVR INOX App/website. This benefit can be availed unlimited number of times.
Complimentary Lounge Access at PVR INOX
The card gives you access to the PVR INOX lounges at no cost. But any purchases you make inside the lounge will have to be borne by you.
Should You Get it?
It makes sense to hold the Kotak PVR INOX credit card if you frequently visit PVR INOX cinema chain for movies. A flat 5% discount on tickets and 20% discount on food & beverages are worthy savings in itself and if you can meet the spend-based milestones to get the free tickets, that’s another plus point. You can do certain large ticket spends with Kotak PVR INOX card such as insurance, education, LIC payments, and government services related payments etc which are anyway excluded on other cards, for incremental milestone spends to avail free ticket benefit. Only rent and wallet spends are excluded from this card’s incremental spend-based milestone criteria .
This card may not be right for those who don’t frequent PVR INOX chains or reside in areas without PVR INOX cinemas. And obviously, its not for you if you are looking for benefits in any category other than movies.

You can apply for the Kotak PVR INOX credit card online through the official website of Kotak Mahindra. The applicant should be an Indian citizen and between 18-65 years of age. The Bank also considers your credit score and other factors in the application approval process.
